Concordia Lutheran High School junior Mallory Weller claimed the title of National Champion in the 2-mile race at the 2025 New Balance Nationals this weekend in Boston. Weller dominated the competition with a blazing time of 10:05.56, setting a new personal record, a CLHS school record, the Indiana All-Time #3 mark, and the current US #6 time. Weller's incredible performance highlights her dedication and talent on the track. She also competed in the 1-mile event, finishing with a PR of 4:42.13, another school record, Indiana All-Time #3, and US #9 ranking. Congratulations to Mallory on this outstanding achievement!

Concordia Lutheran High School's JROTC Robo Rangers teams showcased their engineering and problem-solving excellence at the 7th Brigade Army JROTC VEX V5 Robotics Competition, earning six major awards at the regional championship. Competing against top teams from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, Concordia's teams demonstrated innovation, precision, and teamwork, solidifying their place as a force to be reckoned with in the robotics arena.

Congratulations to Remmington Tallent for an outstanding performance at the Indiana State Gymnastics Competition! Tallent placed 7th on vault, showcasing her skill and dedication on the state's biggest stage. We are so proud of her hard work and achievement! Way to go, Remmington!

Our CLHS girls made a statement on the national stage this weekend in Boston! More amazing performances: Daphne Weller - 4:58.76 in the Freshman Mile, 4th place & All-American! Natalie Cordes - 5:21.06 PR in the Freshman Mile! 4x800 Relay (D. Weller, M. Gentz, B. Crass, M. Weller) - 9:15, 9th place! Daphne Weller - 2:18.72 PR in the Freshman 800m, 9th place! 4x1 Mile Relay (M. Gentz, H. Clark, N. Cordes, L. Schlicker) - 21:37.55, 24th place! Amazing job, ladies!

For the ninth consecutive year, Concordia Lutheran High School's Maroon Standard Chamber Choir has earned a spot at the State Vocal Jazz Competition! Since the inception of the event, Concordia has consistently secured a place among Indiana's top vocal jazz ensembles. Out of 25 choirs from four district sites, Maroon Standard advanced as one of the top eight choirs in the state. The State Finals will take place on Friday, March 21, at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. This achievement reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of the choir members and their director. The Concordia community is proud of Maroon Standard and wishes them the best of luck as they take the stage at state! Congratulations, Maroon Standard!

Concordia Lutheran High School is proud to cheer on Remmington Tallent as she competes in the vault at the IHSAA Gymnastics State Finals this weekend. The competition will take place at Ball State University on Saturday, [date], with opening ceremonies beginning at 11:00 AM and competition starting at 11:30 AM. Remmington has demonstrated outstanding dedication and skill throughout the season, earning her spot among Indiana's top gymnasts. As she takes the stage at the state finals, the entire Concordia community is behind her, wishing her success on this incredible achievement. Good luck, Remmington! We are proud of you!

The CLHS premiere concert choir, the 42-voice, A Cappella Choir is now on their annual tour through March 17th when they will return home for their final tour performance at Kramer Chapel on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne. They will be going as far west as Norfolk, Nebraska with stops in La Porte, Indiana, Urbandale, Iowa, Omaha, Nebraska, and Lincoln, Nebraska. They plan on spending a day at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha which was ranked #1 in the nation by USA Today 2 years in a row. The A Cappella Choir exists to honor God and proclaim the love of Christ in song. Tour is their opportunity to take this message on the road! All concerts are free to attend. Earlier this week. CLHS Media Arts students attended the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters Spring Conference at Butler University with over 800 students from schools across the state. Students had the opportunity to network and attend workshops with media professionals such as filmmakers, radio show hosts, and journalists.

The Concordia Lutheran High School Band and Orchestra recently took their talents on the road for their annual tour, bringing beautiful music and fellowship to communities across the Midwest. From February 6 through 10, students performed in three incredible venues, sharing their God-given gifts through inspiring concerts. The tour began with a stop at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Indiana, where the musicians set the tone for an exciting journey with a 6:30 p.m. performance on February 6. From there, they traveled to Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois, performing for students, faculty, and guests in a special 7:00 p.m. concert on February 8. The tour concluded back home in Fort Wayne, where they played their final concert at St. Michael Lutheran Church on February 10 at 7:00 p.m., wrapping up a memorable trip filled with music, faith, and fellowship. This annual tour is a cherished tradition at CLHS, allowing students to share their talents, connect with Lutheran communities, and grow as musicians and ambassadors of our school. Congratulations to the Band and Orchestra for another successful and inspiring tour!

The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) oversees the classification of schools based on enrollment, with Class 3A typically representing medium-sized schools.

This sets a new SCHOOL RECORD for Mallory AND sets a NEW INDIANA INDOOR RECORD ranking Mallory with the 6th best 3200m All-Time in the State of Indiana. Also at this meet, the 4x800 team of Daphne Weller, Maddie Gentz, Brylee Crass, and Mallory set a NEW INDIANA INDOOR RECORD with a time of 9:13.1. Way to go, Cadets!

Congratulations to Rose Folster (Silver Medal), Keaton Gass (Bronze Medal) and Evan Gernhardt (Voting Delegate) for their participation and placing at FCCLA State Conference, Baking and Pastry Competition.

Twenty-four Cadets competed at DECA State Competition from Sunday to Tuesday, March 2-4. Jack Habegger, Sam David, and Kathryn Crook have qualified to compete at the DECA International Competition in Orlando, Florida from April 25 to April 30.

On Saturday 1/25/2025, Austin Jefferies represented Concordia at the Fort Wayne Regional Singles event at MVP. Top 11 boys advanced to Semi State. Austin placed 24th out of 47 bowlers, with a 546, missing advancement by 50 pins. Great effort! The Cadet bowling season has now come to a close. Thanks to this year's team for making it fun and breaking some new Concordia team records. Cadets representing this year's team consisted of: Hudson Kraft, Margret Gilman, Milas Woods, Joe Cobb, Austin Jefferies, Micah David, Ethan Walker, Ben Lehman, and Isaac Garnett.

Concordia Lutheran High School wrestlers Nolan Winicker (157 lbs) and Aidan Pesick (150 lbs) took home 1st place titles at the SAC Wrestling Championship. Their impressive performances secured individual victories in their weight classes, showcasing their hard work and dedication to the sport. As a team, the Cadets put up a strong fight, finishing 4th overall in the meet. Congratulations to Nolan, Aidan, and the entire wrestling team on a great competition!

Concordia Lutheran High School is proud to recognize Jack Andrews, Jalen Campos, Avery Cook, Ethan Rich, and Zach Spielman for earning a spot on Indiana's Academic All-State Team for 3A football. This prestigious honor highlights student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom, demonstrating outstanding academic achievement alongside their commitment to athletics. Earning Academic All-State recognition is no small feat, as it requires a strong GPA, dedication to coursework, and excellence in football. Congratulations to these five seniors on this well-deserved achievement!

Eight Concordia Lutheran High School students had the opportunity to attend the Beyond the Game Leadership Luncheon on Wednesday, February 12, at the ASH Center in Fort Wayne. This special event brings together student-athletes from across the region to hear from inspiring speakers, engage in leadership discussions, and learn valuable life skills that extend beyond sports. Representing CLHS at the luncheon were Lauren Goodman, Bekah Morrison, Will Schlegel, Jack Habegger, Mallory Weller, Remmington Tallent, Carson Dale, and Grant Allman. These students were selected for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field. Events like Beyond the Game equip students with tools to become strong, character-driven leaders in their schools and communities. Congratulations to our student representatives for taking part in this meaningful experience!

Congratulations to Concordia Lutheran High School junior TaylorAnn Minarik, who has been recognized with a Scholastic Art & Writing Award for her poem, "It's Her First Time Being Alive Too." This prestigious award honors young writers for their creativity, originality, and exceptional literary talent. TaylorAnn's thought-provoking poem showcases her unique voice and storytelling ability, earning well-deserved recognition in this highly competitive competition. CLHS swimmer Lydia Hogue finished 22nd in the 50-meter freestyle at state.

Concordia Lutheran High School welcomes it's second semester group of freshmen to the Honors Academy. The Honors Academy promotes exceptional academics, leadership and community service among students. Through service opportunities, leadership summits, and college visits, students are given every opportunity to excel in their learning. Begun in 2014, program involves academic rigor and discovery, creative processing and research, mentor directed community service and leadership development as well as student bonding and support.

FCCLA would like to introduce our State Conference School Representative and Star Event-Baking and Pastry Competition Team: EVAN GERNHARDT - School Representative KEATON GASS - Baking and Pastry Team ROSE FOLSTER - Baking and Pastry Team These students will represent Concordia Lutheran High School during the FCCLA State Conference in Muncie, Indiana. Keaton and Rose have been working hard to hone their baking skills in preparation for the event. Within a time limit, each competitor will produce and present choux pastry, blueberry muffins, cookies and decorate a two-layer cake per specifications. If you see them, wish them luck!

Concordia Lutheran High School students Lucy Moll and Alyssa Purwanto were welcomed to the Statehouse by State Sen. Liz Brown (R-Fort Wayne) this week. They spent the day touring the Statehouse, observing debates, and interacting with Brown. "I always enjoy meeting with local students who have traveled all the way down to the Statehouse to learn about state government," Brown said. "It is so valuable for our Hoosier youth to learn about the legislative process and how they can become civically engaged in our community." "There is no better way to do that than to be a Senate page, and I encourage local schools and parents to consider signing students up for this unique opportunity." Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the program on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the legislative session and groups serve on Wednesdays.

Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right! Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features the classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family. This musical is directed by Mr. Chris Murphy, with musical direction by Mr. Isaac Weander.

Congratulations to freshman Haley Terrell winning the 1-meter diving competition at the SAC meet with a score of 368. This helped Concordia girls repeat as SAC champions.

Concordia Lutheran High School JROTC Drill Teams killed it on the Drill Floor in Holland, Ohio. Concordia brought home many awards.

Congratulations to Andreas Kourkoulis-Holman and Drew Hatfield earning All SAC First Team Honors. They each had 31 points.

Congratulations to the girls swim team for winning the SAC championship. Swimmers earning first team all SAC include Cocoa Milleman and Lydia Hogue with the maximum number of points (40). This is followed by Leah Scott (37), Leah Mallory (37), Quinn Lenwell (33), Lauren Harris (31), and Erin Hartzog (31).

CLHS would like to congratulate three outstanding scholars from the class of 2025. Jack Habegger and Ellie Walters have been named the Valedictorians of the Class of 2025, and Cameryn McConkey has been named the Salutatorian. These three exceptional students have performed exemplarily inside the classroom, taking a rigorous course load filled with both AP and Honors courses. We commend them for their dedication to academic excellence and are proud of their prestigious accomplishment.
