Concordia Lutheran High School has been providing Christ-centered educational excellence since 1935. We are a 9-12 school that offers 15 distinct academic programs (including 16 AP classes, 8 Dual Credit classes, and 7 Honors classes). We offer 21 different sports for boys and girls, and more than 20 different clubs and activities, including a JROTC leadership program. We pride ourselves on small class sizes and a family atmosphere!

CLHS Band & Orchestra Share Their Gifts on Annual Tour

The Concordia Lutheran High School Band and Orchestra recently took their talents on the road for their annual tour, bringing beautiful music and fellowship to communities across the Midwest. From February 6 through 10, students performed in three incredible venues, sharing their God-given gifts through inspiring concerts. The tour began with a stop at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Indiana, where the musicians set the tone for an exciting journey with a 6:30 p.m. performance on February 6. From there, they traveled to Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois, performing for students, faculty, and guests in a special 7:00 p.m. concert on February 8. The tour concluded back home in Fort Wayne, where they played their final concert at St. Michael Lutheran Church on February 10 at 7:00 p.m., wrapping up a memorable trip filled with music, faith, and fellowship. This annual tour is a cherished tradition at CLHS, allowing students to share their talents, connect with Lutheran communities, and grow as musicians and ambassadors of our school. Congratulations to the Band and Orchestra for another successful and inspiring tour!

CLHS A Cappella Choir Spring Tour

The CLHS premiere concert choir, the 42-voice, A Cappella Choir is now on their annual tour through March 17th when they will return home for their final tour performance at Kramer Chapel on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne. They will be going as far west as Norfolk, Nebraska with stops in La Porte, Indiana, Urbandale, Iowa, Omaha, Nebraska, and Lincoln, Nebraska. They plan on spending a day at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha which was ranked #1 in the nation by USA Today 2 years in a row. The A Cappella Choir exists to honor God and proclaim the love of Christ in song. Tour is their opportunity to take this message on the road! All concerts are free to attend. CLHS Media Arts Students Attend IASB Conference

Earlier this week. CLHS Media Arts students attended the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters Spring Conference at Butler University with over 800 students from schools across the state. Students had the opportunity to network and attend workshops with media professionals such as filmmakers, radio show hosts, and journalists.

Freshmen Cohort Inducted into Concordia's Honors Academy for 2nd Semester

Concordia Lutheran High School welcomes it's second semester group of freshmen to the Honors Academy. The Honors Academy promotes exceptional academics, leadership and community service among students. Through service opportunities, leadership summits, and college visits, students are given every opportunity to excel in their learning. Begun in 2014, program involves academic rigor and discovery, creative processing and research, mentor directed community service and leadership development as well as student bonding and support.

Rising Stars of Indiana is a non-competitive recognition program, designed to honor high school juniors for their academic achievement. By allowing schools to identify outstanding scholars during their Junior year, we hope to increase their visibility and scholarship opportunities. Each Indiana high school can recognize up to four individual students.

This award is presented annually in honor J. Neil Reincke, athletic director at Concordia Lutheran High School from 1989 - 1999. This award is given for outstanding Christian leadership, dependability, integrity, & loyalty toward Concordia Lutheran High School, teammates, & coaches.

CLHS Senior Nathaniel Bryan Named Presidential Scholars Semifinalist

Nathaniel Bryan, a graduating senior at Concordia Lutheran High School, has been named one of 625 semifinalists in the 2024 U.S Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from over 6,000 candidates expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2024.

TLSP Honors Recognition Breakfast

Last Friday, TLSP hosted their annual Honors Recognition and Breakfast. Each school was invited to identify up to four graduates who were then recognized for their outstanding achievements. 15 schools and 47 graduates were in attendance with parents, family members, principals, and teachers. Congratulations to the CLHS Class of 2024 students being honored:Joshua Castleman,Alexander Jones, David Milliman, and Abigail Scheiderer.

CLHS Good Citizen Award Nominee

Congratulations to senior Troy Zimmerman for being Concordia's nomination for the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Good Citizen Award. Troy attended a recognition ceremony on Friday, January 20. The Daughters of the American Revolution created the DAR Good Citizen contest in 1934. The competition was developed to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship in high school students and is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools. Participating high schools in Allen County currently include Bishop Dwenger, Bishop Luers, Blackhawk Christian, Canterbury, Carroll, Concordia, Heritage, Homestead, Leo, New Haven, North Side, Northrop, Snider, South Side, Wayne, and Woodlan.

Three Freshmen Inducted into Concordia's Honors Academy for the Spring

Concordia Lutheran High School is welcoming its newest students to the Honors Academy this spring. These new freshmen are Julia Cobb, Kathryn Crook, and Adelyn Brown. Students are able to join the second semester of their freshmen year based on their PSAT scores. These freshmen are joining the 10 other freshmen inducted this past fall.

Cadet Named Rifle Regional Champion

CLHS Junior Piper Wentland is the Regional Champion in the All-Army National Rifle Championship, scoring 1281.9 out of 1309. Piper is anticipating an invite to go head-to-head against the nation's top marksmen. Congratulations on aiming for success and being time on target Piper. Well done, Cadet!

Cadets Win JA Essay Contest

This year, Junior Achievement received funding through the Schwab Foundation in order to offer an essay contest for students currently enrolled in the JA Career Success and/or JA Career Speaker Series programs. This essay contest allows each participating student an opportunity to research and write an essay about a career that interests him or her. Dontrell Johnson wrote about wanting to be a psychologist and Wyatt Raney wrote about wanting to be a pilot. Each will each receive a $100 cash prize and a job shadow experience based on the career of interest as written in their winning essay. Congrats to both Dontrell and Wyatt!

Barnabas Award Winner Announced

Ten students in all were nominated for this award by the student body and faculty and staff. A committee of four faculty members and four seniors made the final selection. Ten seniors were nominated: Ben Corley, Rachel Geller, Ben Gerig, Michael Habegger, Ellie Hellinger, Lainey Linnemeier, Anna Maxson, Katie McKay, and Hope Stephenson. Senior Michael Habegger was honored with the Richard W. Moellering Senior Barnabas Award. Established by the Class of 1986, the award recognizes a senior who exemplifies encouragement and servanthood. Barnabas was a missionary and co-worker of St. Paul. His name means "encourager." His ministry in life was to be of service to his fellow man. One nominator wrote: "Michael has a magnetic personality which helps him instill a sense of community in each group in which he takes part. He is a natural servant, volunteering in any way, and always following through with the commitment he makes."

CLHS Girls Tennis Named SAC Champs

Congratulations to the Concordia Girls Tennis Team who are the 2022 ALL-SAC Champions. Concordia was able to defeat Dwenger in a close match of 3-2 which was tied 2-2 before Alyssa Linder and Katie Jones came back to win in a close 3rd set to win the match. Emma Jansing (#2 singles) and Alyssa Linder/Katie Jones (#2 doubles) went undefeated in conference play. The Lady Cadets have also beaten some top schools in the area including Carroll, Dekalb, Canterbury, and Leo. According to Coach Beier, "these wins were with different players getting the decisive 3rd point and was certainly a team effort not just 3-4 players being the key."

JROTC Robotics Team Earns Back-To-Back World Championships

Concordia Lutheran High School's JROTC Robotics team took home the Excellence Award for the second year in a row at the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championships. This is the top award in the competition. The Excellence Award is the highest award presented in the VEX Robotics competition. This award is presented to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a high-quality robotics program. The competition was held in Texas last week. The judges evaluated the students and their robots on their skills and knowledge of engineering.
