The ISSMA Solo and Ensemble competition for instrumentalists was held at East Noble High School. Special congratulations goes out to those who earned Gold & Silver Ratings.

For the 10th consecutive year-every year since the event began-Concordia's Maroon Standard has qualified for the State Vocal Jazz Finals. Out of 25 participating choirs, CLHS was selected as one of only eight finalists. The 2026 ISSMA State Vocal Jazz Finals will be held on Friday, March 20 at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis.

The Theatre Department at Concordia Lutheran High School delighted audiences a few weekends ago with its production of The Little Mermaid, bringing the beloved undersea story to life through music, colorful staging, and the impressive talents of Concordia's student performers and crew. This musical is directed by Mr. Chris Murphy, with musical direction by Mr. Isaac Weander.

Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor in Louisiana, Steel Magnolias is alternately hilarious and touching and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness that underlies the antic banter of its characters. Through four scenes spanning three years the staff and customers engage in small-town gossip but we see a deep strength and purposefulness emerge." - directed by Chris Murphy

The CLHS theater season opened with this psychological thriller. The show unravels an elegant mystery about an ex-tennis star who plots to kill his wealthy wife. Tony Wendice suspects his lovely wife Margot of being disloyal to him. In an attempt to gain the upperhand, Tony spins a tangled web of deception, lies, and revenge that can only end in one thing: murder. This thriller is directed by Mr. Chris Murphy.

For the ninth consecutive year, Concordia Lutheran High School's Maroon Standard Chamber Choir has earned a spot at the State Vocal Jazz Competition! Since the inception of the event, Concordia has consistently secured a place among Indiana's top vocal jazz ensembles. Out of 25 choirs from four district sites, Maroon Standard advanced as one of the top eight choirs in the state. The State Finals will take place on Friday, March 21, at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. This achievement reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of the choir members and their director. The Concordia community is proud of Maroon Standard and wishes them the best of luck as they take the stage at state! Congratulations, Maroon Standard!

Congratulations to Concordia Lutheran High School junior TaylorAnn Minarik, who has been recognized with a Scholastic Art & Writing Award for her poem, "It's Her First Time Being Alive Too." This prestigious award honors young writers for their creativity, originality, and exceptional literary talent. TaylorAnn's thought-provoking poem showcases her unique voice and storytelling ability, earning well-deserved recognition in this highly competitive competition. The CLHS community is proud of her accomplishment and looks forward to seeing her continue to shine as a writer. Way to go, TaylorAnn!

Concordia Lutheran High School's A Cappella Choir proudly represented the school at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Finals on Saturday, May 10, after qualifying with top honors at the regional level. On May 3, the choir performed at Elkhart High School in the ISSMA State Qualifying Round, earning a Gold rating with distinction in both performance and sight-reading categories. Their exceptional performance secured them a spot among just 16 choirs statewide to advance to the prestigious State Finals, held at Pike High School in Indianapolis. Concordia's A Cappella Choir continues a long-standing tradition of excellence in vocal music and is a shining example of the school's commitment to both the arts and student achievement.

Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features the classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family. Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world. Back in November, audiences joined Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journeyed from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in the inspiring coming-of-age tale. The Lion King Jr. featured classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including "I Just Can't Wait to Be King," "He Lives in You," and "Hakuna Matata."

Concordia Lutheran Marching Cadets performed their show, Season of Hope, and concluded their season with an impressive 8th place finish in Class C at ISSMA State Finals on Saturday, Nov 9th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Congratulations, Marching Band and Color Guard! Soli Deo Gloria!

At the Dekalb High School "Baron Brigade Invitational" on Saturday 9/17/24, The Concordia Lutheran Marching Cadets finished 1st place in Class C, winning caption in Visual Effect and General Effect. Soli Deo Gloria!

Junior Scotland Dry's visual poem "Where I'm From" has been selected to show at the Indiana Youth Film Festival on June 22 at Kan-Kan Cinema in Indianapolis. This video was previously given the top prize in the video category at the CLHS Fine Arts Festival this past spring. Congratulations to Scotland!

CLHS Senior Emily Milholland has been selected as a finalist for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition of Indiana 3rd District. Her art piece, The Story Inn, will be on display during an invite only showcase on the afternoon of Thursday, May 9 at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

Congratulations to all of the student art award winners who were announced near the conclusion of Concordia Lutheran High School's Fine Arts Festival. Chris Dawson won the Zollner Art Award, the top CLHS art prize! His photo, "A Cold Winter's Night", will be purchased by CLHS for $200 and be placed on display in the main hallway of the high school.

ISSMA STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE RESULTS! The Concordia Lutheran High School choral department participated in the vocal ISSMA Solo & Ensemble State contest held at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, February 18.

The 'Maroon Standard' Chamber Choir had their best performance of the year at the Jazz State Finals on Friday, March 17! As one of 8 selected state finalists, they performed a 3 song set of: Words, Somewhere over the Rainbow, and The Song is You for a panel of nationally recognized musician adjudicators. They were one of the top performances of the evening earning a standing ovation, many professional compliments and ultimately recognized as the 2023 State Runner- Up in Vocal Jazz!
